Peninsula salt is the reason for a separate page
New Smyrna Beach is split by the river. The sealing problem on the peninsula is salt, wind, and older small lots around Flagler Avenue and the beach blocks. Mainland neighborhoods, including Venetian Bay, are more often a color-match and committee problem. This page is only the beachside sealing job. Driveway rules for Venetian Bay are on the community page. The 60 percent cap still exists citywide and is discussed below only because people widen a walk while they are 'just sealing.'
Salt sits on the surface and in the joints. It can look like the white bloom of efflorescence on new concrete units. One is a mineral deposit from inside the unit. The other is a crust you can often rinse. Sealing over either, while the surface is damp, is how a film turns milky. The efflorescence guide is the longer version. On the peninsula, rinse after a salty blow before you decide the pavers have failed.
The published price and the published life
HomeGuide, in a page dated August 16, 2024, puts the combined clean, joint sand, and seal at $1.50 to $3.25 per square foot and says the result often lasts 3 to 5 years. Washing alone is $0.35 to $0.80. Angi's driveway maintenance line is $1 to $3 per square foot every 3 to 5 years, or roughly $300 to $800 a visit. Last checked November 1, 2026. Use the HomeGuide combined band when the quote includes sand, because empty joints are half the beachside complaint. Wind and rain pull sand out. A sealer on empty joints does not replace the sand.
A 400 square foot beach deck is about $600 to $1,300 on the $1.50 to $3.25 band. A 1,000 square foot inland drive in the same city would be $1,500 to $3,250 and is not this page's typical shape. Small jobs bump into a minimum trip charge the publishers do not standardize. Ask for it in writing. There is no public New Smyrna Beach seal price to substitute.
What sealing does not change on the lot sheet
Coating pavers that are already there does not add square footage. The city's lot sheet, which caps total impervious cover at 60 percent and building coverage at 40 percent, cares when you add drive, walk, or patio area. If the sealer visit turns into a border, a landing, or a wider path to the outdoor shower, stop and run the sheet. Beachside lots are small. The remaining allowance can be tiny. Permeable products are not automatically outside the cap. The permit row links the sheet.
Condo boards and older cottage streets may still control how dark or how glossy a surface may look. We did not read a beachside association palette for this page. Ask yours if you have one. A wet-look film that photographs well can be slick on a deck that is already salted and hosed. HomeGuide notes that solvent-based products can be slippery and can haze when moisture is trapped. Ask for something you can walk barefoot after a rinse.
| Scope | Lot sheet | Money to plan with |
|---|---|---|
| Clean, sand, and seal existing pavers | No new area if the outline does not grow | $1.50 to $3.25 per square foot, HomeGuide |
| Wash only | No new area | $0.35 to $0.80 per square foot, HomeGuide |
| New walk, border, or pad added the same week | Counts toward 60 percent impervious | Stop and measure before you seal around it |
Checklist
- Say beachside or 32169, not only New Smyrna Beach.
- Rinse salt and identify whether the white film is salt or efflorescence before anyone seals.
- Replace joint sand as part of the scope if the joints are empty. A film will not invent sand.
- Keep the outline the same if you are trying to stay off the lot sheet. Measure anything new.
- Ask for a product that stays walkable when wet. Decline a high-gloss film on a barefoot deck unless you have walked a sample wet.
- Budget $1.50 to $3.25 per square foot for the full clean-sand-seal, and ask about a minimum charge.
- Look sooner than the inland 5-year end of the published range. That is practice near salt, not a code section.
Daytona Pavers is a free matching service. The person who washes and seals is an independent installer. We do not claim a beachside route.

Beachside New Smyrna sealing questions
How much does paver sealing cost to plan on the peninsula?
HomeGuide's combined clean, sand, and seal is $1.50 to $3.25 per square foot, often lasting 3 to 5 years in the publisher's general statement. A 400 square foot deck is about $600 to $1,300 on that straight math. Last checked November 1, 2026. Not a quote.
Does salt change the ordinance?
No ordinance we read sets a beachside reseal month. Salt is a reason the film and the sand fail sooner than on a shady inland drive. Inspect sooner. Do not invent an 18-month law.
Does sealing count as new impervious area?
Not if you only coat pavers that are already there. Adding pavers counts on the city's lot sheet, which caps total impervious cover at 60 percent.
Is this the Venetian Bay page?
No. Venetian Bay is a mainland community with design-committee color rules. This page is the peninsula salt problem. Use the community page if the house is in Venetian Bay.
Why did the last sealer turn white?
Moisture, salt, or efflorescence under a film. Clean, dry, and do not coat a fresh mineral bloom. The efflorescence guide shows the difference.
Who does the washing?
An independent installer, if you hire one. Daytona Pavers only introduces you and does not charge for that introduction.
Request a beachside New Smyrna sealing quote
Daytona Pavers is a free service that connects homeowners with local, independent paver installers. It is not itself the contractor. Your request is shared with a local installer so they can contact you with a quote.
